Stop smoking medications
Nicotine is extremely addictive, and this is the main reason that people try to stop smoking.
Your Live Life Better Derbies Counselor will speak about smoking stoppages and assisting with the right product you chose.
We offer two different types of smoking drugs – nicotine replacement therapies (NRT) and Varenicline, also known as Champix. More information is attached to this page.
NRT is a drug that treats you with small amounts of nicotine, but without tar, carbon monoxide and other chemicals found in tobacco smoke.
It can help reduce the side effects of closing smoking, such as bad moods and aggressive feelings, which can occur when smoking stops.
NRT is available in a range of forms that include patches, gum, inhaler and oral spray.
Varenicline, branding the name Champix, is a drug that works in two different ways.
It reduces nicotine cravings like NRT, but also prevents the rewarding and relieving effects of smoking.
The medication is prescribed only and your doctor will need to evaluate your fitness to use it.
Your Stop Smoking Counselor will discuss with you which product will best help you to quit smoking.
Currently, there are no e-cigarettes available on prescription, and as such, Lively Improved Derbyshire customers do not currently offer e-cigarettes.
Licensed counselors can treat medications only. However, if you want to use the electronic cigarette, we can still help you to set a quiet time and help you stop.
